Questions and answers

The essentials about the programme at a glance.

About the programme & costs

Who do I turn to with questions?

For general questions about KIDS ON SKI please use the contact form. For questions about the ski region, the ski school, the equipment or the accommodation, please contact the accommodation or the tourism board directly.

Is there really no catch?

No. The costs for ski lessons, equipment and lift pass are covered by the ski regions and sponsors from the winter sports industry, to support the next generation of skiers. The only requirement: staying at one of the participating partner hotels.

What does the programme cost us?

Nothing for the child. Ski lessons, equipment, lift pass and the child's stay in the parents' room are sponsored. Parents pay for their own accommodation.

Who is behind the programme?

Alongside Mike Partel, numerous partners from the winter sports industry: tourism boards, ski schools, ski rental shops and mountain railways, plus sponsors such as Leitner, Doppelmayr, TechnoAlpin, Skidata and Sunkid.

Requirements to take part

From what age can my child take part?

The programme is exclusively for children aged 3 to 5.

I have two children, three and six years old. Can both take part?

The programme is for children aged 3 to 5. The six-year-old therefore cannot take part. Up to two children of the right age are fine per booking.

Does my child already need to know how to ski?

No. The half-day ski courses are for beginners, your child doesn't need any prior experience.

I live near a participating ski area. Can I still register my child?

No. The programme requires an overnight stay on one of the listed dates at one of the participating accommodations.

Places, registration & voucher

How many places are there?

Each ski region takes at most 200 children. That keeps the attention personal and the equipment good. Places go quickly.

How safe is my place?

Your voucher claim after your enquiry reserves your place. It's only finally secured once you have a fixed hotel booking. Since each region only has 200 places, it's first come, first served.

How do I get the voucher?

After your enquiry we send you a confirmation email with a link. Once you have booked with the accommodation, you create your voucher there, you will need the booking number from the accommodation. Print the voucher and show it at the ski school, the rental shop and the mountain railway. If the confirmation email didn't reach you, the button below takes you straight to the voucher form.

Receive and print your voucher

Do I need to activate the voucher straight away?

Yes, we recommend it. Since only 200 places are available per region, they can go quickly.

I no longer have the confirmation email. How do I get my voucher?

No problem: send us a short message via the contact form on the contact page or to info@kids-on-ski.com, ideally with your registration number and the name of your accommodation. We will resend your personal voucher link.

On site: ski course & equipment

Does my child need their own equipment?

No. Skis, boots and helmet are provided. Please bring warm ski clothing, gloves and ski goggles.

How big are the ski course groups?

That's set by the local ski school. Please contact the accommodation or ski school in your region for the exact group size.

Where do I meet the ski instructors?

The meeting point for the ski course is set by the respective ski school and will be shared with you through the accommodation once your booking is confirmed.

What if my child isn’t in the mood?

That's completely normal, first steps in the snow sometimes take a little time. The instructors are experienced with children aged 3 to 5 and adjust to each child's pace. And since your child sleeps in your room, you're close by throughout the stay.
