Where did the idea for KIDS ON SKI come from?
The KIDS ON SKI initiative was launched by Mike Partel, Managing Director of Mountain Management Consulting. As a passionate winter sports enthusiast and industry expert, he recognized that fewer and fewer children are out and about on the slopes – whether due to financial hurdles, demographic changes or simply because there is a lack of idols to make snow sports attractive to children. Mike Partel wanted to counteract this trend and use the initiative to ensure that every child has the opportunity to get to know and love winter sports.
Co-founders of this idea and sponsors of the pilot group are the ski regions of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Leogang, Alta Badia, Madonna di Campiglio, Grindelwald and the Aletsch Arena.
Is there a waiting list for fully booked dates?
If a date is already fully booked, it is possible to be put on a waiting list. Simply send us an e-mail and we will try to find a suitable solution together with the respective tourism organization.
How many children take part in a course?
Small groups usually take part in the ski courses. The small group size ensures that each child receives individual attention and discovers the joy of skiing in a safe, relaxed environment.
What happens in bad weather?
In bad weather, the following applies: Skiing is an outdoor sport, which is why 95% of the ski courses are usually held as planned. However, in the event of extreme weather conditions such as storms or heavy rain, it is of course the ski school’s duty of care to act in the interests of the children’s safety.

What does the daily routine look like for the children?
In the ski course, which lasts around 2-3 hours and takes place either in the morning or in the afternoon, children learn their first ski turns in a small group with other children. Under the guidance of experienced ski instructors, the children are introduced to snow sports in a playful way. Outside of the ski course, the little ones have time to relax with their parents, perhaps have a few snowball fights or simply explore the breathtaking winter landscape. It’s the perfect balance between learning and free time so that the children can enjoy their time in the snow to the full.
Can I also take advantage of the promotion without accommodation?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to take advantage of the KIDS ON SKI program without accommodation. The program is tied to the booking of accommodation or a hotel in one of the participating partner companies on the specified dates.
